FC America OMNI U-11 Boys Win 2004 Palm Bay Spring Challenge

May 3, 2004 ... Over the May 1st and 2nd weekend, the Omni U-11 boys swept their way to the championship at the 2004 Palm Bay Spring Challenge.

The team started a little sluggish in the first game of pool play but really picked up the pace toward half time for a 7-1 victory over First Coast. The second game was a match against Megu-Fusion and the team dominated the game from start to finish for a 7-2 win. The third game on Sunday morning pitted FC America against a local Orlando team, the Maitland Azurri's. This game started very strangely with FC America controlling the game with a number of good scoring opportunities but could not finish against the Azurri's goalkeeper. After 20 minutes, FC America found itself down 0-2. The team did not panic and roared back with 7 unanswered goals and won the game 8-3.

The championship game featured another local Orlando team, EOS, who won the other group in pool play. FC America came out with tremendous pressure in route to a convincing 6-0 victory and the championship.

Congratulations to the team and Coach Betsinger for a great weekend of soccer.
