FC America U-13 Boys Repeat As Brevard

Fall Challenge Champions

October 9, 2004 ... For the second straight Columbus Day weekend the FC America 92’ Boys repeat as the Brevard Fall Challenge Champions, capturing the 2004 crown by defeating the Rockledge Steelers 2-1 in a great Sunday final. 

FC America opened the tourney with a convincing 6-1 win over the Mako Sharks, opening a 5-0 halftime lead and coasting home.  Game two found FC America squandering leads of 3-1 and 4-3, ultimately giving up a final minute free kick goal to Rockledge, resulting in a 4-4 tie.  Game Three was a repeat of Game two, as we frittered away leads of 3-1 and 5-3 before hanging  on to hand Stetson 301 a 5-4 loss.

The Finals opened with FC America taking the game firmly to Rockledge, and despite leading only 1-0 at the half we looked solidly in control.  FC America went up 2-0 early in the second and held solid control throughout.  We gave up a late goal when play was re-started during a substitution, and survived another late Rockledge all out assault in the final 3 minutes to post a 2-1 win, and secure our second straight Fall Challenge Championship.  Great Job Guys!
