FC America U15 Boys Leave Lasting Impression At The Tampa Bay SunBowl

December 30, 2004 ... The U15 FC America boys left a lasting impression this past weekend at the Tampa Bay SunBowl.  The team came in second in their bracket losing the chance to win their bracket and move onto the quarterfinals by just one goal.

During the first game FCA beat the Hollywood Wildcats 2-0 with goals scored by Mauricio Claros and Colin Campbell.

In the second game FCA beat Chicago Fire 3-0 with goals scored by Mauricio Claros.

Game three saw FCA tied with Charlotte United Gold 2-2 with goals scored by Marcel Jap and Brice Hatcher.

In the final game FCA lost to Georgia FC 90 Gold 3-2.  FC America's goals were scored by Sam Staudt and Nico Padilla.  Georgia moved onto the quarterfinals with 32 points beating FCA's 26 points.  The game assists were as incredible as the goals themselves.

The boys played well; they played hard and played as a team coached by Ken Hammond whose knowledge, strategy and intensity motivated the boys to perform as well as they did.  The FC America Club is proud of your accomplishment, this being your first Sun Bowl experience, and it left a lasting impression with many coaches and players from around the country.

Congratulations on a job well done and good luck at State Cup!
