FC America U-14 Boys Finalists at Diadora Blues City Blow-Out

March 20, 2006... The FC America 92’ Boys brought home another trophy for 2005-2006, finishing as runner-up in the 2006 Diadora Blues City Blow-out this past weekend in cold and wet Memphis, Tennessee, a fabulous effort highlighted by playing the entire event with a roster of only 12 players.

The boys began the event with a dominating 6-0 win against the Tony Glavin Lions from Missouri, and followed up with a solid 3-1 win vs. Kopling Premier out of Ohio. The Sunday morning semi-final produced a 2-2 tie after 80 minutes against Maumalle, SC, the Arkansas State Finalist, and FC America ’92 advanced on PK’s in a shoot-out that went 10 men deep.

The boys were back on the field for the Finals 1½ hours later against JYSA Storm 92’, the Kentucky State Runner-ups, and despite a gallant effort, lost 2-0 as the tank finally ran dry.
