FC America U-14 Boys Victorious Again At 22nd Annual Countryside Easter Invitational April 17, 2006... The FC America 92’ Boys captured their 4th tournament championship of the season with an impressive run to the Championship over the Easter weekend in hot and dry Clearwater, Florida defeating the Palm Harbor Nighthawks 3-1 in a closely contested Final. The boys began the event with an 8-0 victory against an overmatched St. Pete Raiders squad, and followed it up with a solid 3-1 win against the Dallas Texans. We came up flat in game three against Palm Harbor, losing 3-1, but went thru to the semi-finals as the wildcard. Sunday morning’s semi produced a tough 1-0 win against Mequion, S.C. out of Wisconsin, courtesy of an incredible second half goal by Mitch Hanley. We trailed early in the final 1-0, but got the equalizer late in the first half when Mitch was leveled in the box on a breakaway by the Palm Harbor keeper, and took the lead literally 30 seconds into the second half when Alex Rowlinson collected a nifty outlet ball from Mike Millay and finished it with a brilliant far post ball from just outside the 18. Alex got the insurance goal at 62 minutes off a nice slip pass from John Labrador, and Josh Jacobson preserved the final margin with two brilliant saves in the last five minutes as Palm Harbor committed all to the attack. Another great weekend for the FC America 92’ Boys – Will Bates, Alex Bisbee, Luke Davis, Pedro D’Avila, Juan Duarte, Mitch Hanley, Erick Hamann, Pípe Jara, Josh Jacobson, John Labrador, Mike Millay, Charlie Múnoz, Alex Rowlinson, and Billy Voecks.
