FC America U-13 Boys Win 2006 Palm Bay Spring Challenge

May 8, 2006... Over the May 6th and 7th weekend, the U-13 boys take the championship at the 2006 Palm Bay Spring Challenge.

The team came into the weekend looking to get themselves ready for the State Cup tournament.  They started the tournament with a 4-0 win over the Seminole Lightning in the first game.  The second game was a match against Space Coast and the team controlled the game from start to finish for a 3-0 win.  The third game on Sunday morning pitted FC America against the Palm Beach Kicks that turned out to be an excellent game with each team having great scoring opportunities.  FC America held on for a 2-1 hard fought victory.

The championship game featured another Orlando team, the Orange County Strikers, who won the other group in pool play.  This was a tremendous game with each team going at each other and ending in regulation with a 2-2 tie. Two overtime periods were played with both teams scoring a goal sending the game to PK's.  FC America came out on top in PK's 5-3 for the championship.
